STUDI AKTIVITAS ANTIMIKROB HIDROGEL KITOSAN-PVP-ALGINAT SEMI-IPN (INTERPENETRATING POLYMER NETWORK)

Hidrogel kitosan-poli-vinilpirolidon-alginat (CS/PVP/Alg) telah dapat disintesis dengan menggunakan Ca2+, Zn2+ dan formaldehida sebagai agen pengikat silang (crosslinker). Hidrogel yang terbentuk diuji aktivitasnya sebagai antimikrob yaitu sebagai antibakteri dan anti jamur dengan metode difusi agar. Hidrogel CS/PVP/Alg memiliki aktivitas antimikrob terhadap bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan jamur Aspergillus plapus. Untuk hidrogel dengan pengikat silang Ca2+ juga memberikan aktivitas antimikrob terhadap Escherichia coli sedangkan hidrogel dengan pengikat silang formaldehid hanya memberikat aktivitas antijamur terhadap Aspergillus plapus.
